Very well said! I've always loved stationery and I think it's sad that we use pen and paper much less these days. A hand-written note or card can lift your spirits much more than a text or email!

I first came across Clairefontaine stationery when I was a studying in Belgium many years ago, so the ad brought back memories of that time in my life and inspired me to look at the company's current offering. Thanks for sharing it!

Thank you so much for a very inspiring story, Marie! It's so true that we can miss beautiful, positive things if we focus on the negative!

It sounds like an interesting book to read, especially during the present pandemic. Thanks for recommending it!

Keep Going in a World Changed by the COVID-19 Pandemic

In the blink of an eye

Everything changed

Our freedom and plans

They were taken away

Loved ones distanced

Only seen from afar

No kisses, no hugs

Still two metres apart

Now living in fear

But looking for hope

In these trying times

Many battle to cope

In a changed world

Life is not the same

But the love we share

Will always remain

In uncertain times

Of panic, despair

Don’t ever give up

We will get there

For now we continue

And we all battle on

Knowing that one day

This beast will be…

The world is changing. Green shoots are appearing on bushes. Flowers are starting to burst into bloom. Red, yellow, purple and green decorate the world, as if nature is painting its own picture.

April showers spring from the sky, watering the earth and leading to faster growth. The earth is coming to life again after the long, dormant days of winter.

Here are 30 positive affirmations to help you appreciate life in April, one for each day of the month. …

Sunday was a glorious day. The sun shone in a perfectly blue sky. The bare trees looked incongruous in such a summer-like environment. On Monday, gray clouds blanketed the sky, obscuring the sun.

This is how it is in spring. One day is sunny and full of promise, the next is dull and cold.

Take each day as it comes. Make the most of each day. Notice the little things — like daffodils nodding their heads and rows of brightly colored tulips.

Here are 31 affirmations to help you make the most of March. …

Thanks, Vic. I'll look out for it. I don't think I've ever seen it here but you never know - perhaps I just haven't noticed it!

Hi Vic

I enjoyed reading about your woodland very much. I haven't seen wild garlic before. I will look out for it on my walks! There is so much to find and explore in nature, if we look!

I completely agree that a walk in nature helps you to be more creative when you return to work. It's wonderful that you live so near such a beautiful place!

Best wishes,

Recently I’ve developed a new craving — it’s not for chocolate, cookies or red wine (this time!), it’s for walking around a lake near where I live.

If I don’t go for a few days, I feel it calling to me, as cookies ‘call’ from the cupboard!

I give into this craving and head for the lake. As I walk along the path leading to it, I start to feel more relaxed. I notice the tall silver birch trees edging the path, guarding it like sentinels.

Approaching the lake, I hear the cawing of crows and the quacking of ducks…
