That’s a wonderful way of putting it, Nan! It’s great to think it removes the earthliness from daily life because sometimes daily life does tie us down, even if we don’t want it to. You’re right — writing in your journal is so cathartic.

Glad to hear you’ve found fiction writing similar. I went to a writing workshop recently where we had to write short fiction pieces within short time limits (5 mins or 8 mins) and I was amazed at some of the things I wrote — some of it was rubbish, I admit, but other things were gems but, again, I didn’t engage the rational part of my brain most of the time because we had to write so quickly…it’s something I’d like to explore further. Thanks for the inspiration!
