Thoughts on Feeling Excited

How do you experience this positive emotion? — What is excitement? It’s a bit like feeling butterflies in the pit of your stomach. Excitement is a positive emotion. So, it’s a good idea to focus on excitement, as well as other positive emotions, such as gratitude, empathy and compassion. However, excitement feels a bit like fear, which is…

Anna Riley

Hi Anna

Hi Anna I don't know about you, but I always feel as if I never finish everything on my to-do list! I try to remind myself that it's a work in progress and it doesn't have to be finished today. It's important to relax and refresh, too, as you say. I read somewhere that you should prioritize 1 to 3 tasks that you want to get done today. All the rest can wait! When I have done that, I have felt a greater sense of accomplishment than when I've tried - and failed - to do more. Less is definitely more - it's all in our attitude!

Thanks for a thought-provoking post!

Thanks for a thought-provoking post! I think we all have times when we feel like we are just going through the motions and doing things we have to do rather than enjoying life and living it to the full. I used to feel guilty when I took time out for myself and I'm still working on this, but I remind myself that it's essential if I'm to carry on productively. As you say, there is so much more to life than constantly striving for perfection. The little things in life, the small pleasures, are really the most important things, the things that bring us true joy.
